It means to give light, to shine,
to enlighten, light up, illumine, to bring to light, render evident, to cause something
to exist and thus come to light and become clear to all, to enlighten, spiritually,
imbue with saving knowledge, to instruct, to inform, teach,
to give understanding to.

Hello, I am the Director of Photizo Youth of Light Christian Center. (cyber handshake) It’s nice to cyberspace you. (I can’t say meet you because you are sitting on the other side of an internet connection and I am probably going to be somewhere eating a tollhouse cookie when you read this.) So let me tell you about us in spite of the fact you are there and I am somewhere getting chocolate stuck between my teeth.

We are a church youth group that made the decision that we don’t want to stumble around in the darkness of this world. We want to walk in God’s light! If you are new to the whole idea of “church” you might not understand what that means. Please, allow us to explain. We don’t think the building we meet in every Wednesday at 7:00 PM is church. Sure, you can get technical, that’s what we call the physical building. But, we believe WE are the church. So we have “church” everywhere and the best part about it is that my boss (Our Senior Pastor) lets us.

Being a “church” group doesn’t mean we are boring and stuffy. It means that we are a group of believers who gather together to make friends, have fun, and most importantly to get closer to God and His Son Jesus. We don’t care if you have any specific “religion.” We do care that you have a relationship with our main man Jesus because we already know how much He loves you. We aren’t pushy. We aren’t stuffy and we certainly aren’t boring. If you have been doing the “church thing” for a while, drop in and hang out. We would love to challenge you to grow closer to God. If you have never heard of God or His Son Jesus…YOU are who this little intro was written for.

Welcome to a better way of life. Just by reading this you have taken the first step in trying to figure this whole life thing out. We know what it’s like to have a bad day at school, a disagreement with your parents, and a speeding ticket right after you got your license. We know how scary it is to be looking at colleges and excited and fearful all at the same time. We know how it feels to be hurt, worried, and sad. We know how difficult it is to have drug or drinking problems. We would love to introduce you to a really cool guy we know, that is more than capable of easing and erasing all of those normal youth dilemmas.

So to you my new friend…WELCOME HOME! We don’t have visitors at Light Christian Center. “Do huh?” Nope. We have no visitors; only family members we just haven’t been introduced to yet. You see, you can’t be a visitor in your own home. We would love for you to call Photizo Youth your new home. Just think of us as your great aunt Ethel’s long lost cousins. Yes, meeting us for the first time is awkward and scary but we promise not to pinch your cheeks and tell you how much you’ve grown. Before long you will be laughing and razzing your new found family about that time that they brushed their teeth with Crisco or drank so much milk they threw up.

Still not convinced we are going to be your new best friends? Check out some of the testimonials from youth who recently joined our gang.

I bet you are still wondering…
”HELLO, you never told me what that PHOTIZO thing is.”

Fine, fine, fine, you win. I will tell you…but you have to
meet me at 7:00 pm next Wednesday. <Wink>
